Order Lead-Time Improvement Following Enterprise Information Technology Implementation: An Empirical Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper investigates the influence of enterprise systems implementation on operational performance. The work extends the literature on enterprise systems by focusing on changes in process dynamics as a source for ongoing firmlevel performance improvement. A case discussion ofTristen Corporation, a firm that implemented ERP and subsequently experienced benefits through gains to its continuous improvement efforts, is examined in light of theorized impacts of .such implementations on process dynamics. Analyses of longitudinal data suggest that performance along a key metric motivating the ERF initiative (i.e., order fulfillment lead-time) showed a significant improvement immediately after system deployment. The data further suggest that the system implementation gave rise to an ongoing trend of performance improvement, in contrast to a stable performance trend prior to go-live.

متن کاملAn Empirical Study of Operational Performance Convergence Following Enterprise-IT Implementation
This paper presents an empirical investigation into the influence of enterpriselevel software package implementation on operational performance. It seeks to determine whether, as some suggest, the implementation of these technologies leads to convergence in operational performance. The potential for performance convergence is important because if it occurs, then the use of packaged software app...

This paper is aimed at evaluating critical success factors in Business Intelligence (BI) implementation in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment. The data analysis method used in this paper is the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory Model (DEMATEL). The study has been conducted on a cement manufacturing strategic holding company that has implemented ERP since 2010. This ...
متن کاملImpact of Information Technology Integration and Lean/Just-In-Time Practices on Lead-Time Performance
Managers seeking to improve lead-time performance are challenged by how to balance resources and investments between process improvement achieved through lean/justin-time (JIT) practices and information technology (IT) deployment. However, extant literature provides little guidance on this question. Motivated by both practical importance and lack of academic research, this article examines empi...
متن کاملPerformance Improvement by Workflow Management Systems: Preliminary Results from an Empirical Study
Workflow Management (WfM) systems have acquired a respectable place in the market of enterprise information systems. Although it is clear that implementation of a WfM system may shorten process execution and increase efficiency, little is known about the extent of these effects on business process performance. In this paper, we report on a running longitudinal multi-case study into the quantita...
